Call to Worship (Voices Together #20: Psalm 100)

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come into God’s presence with a song.

Know that the Lord is God, our maker to whom we belong;

we are God’s people and the sheep of God’s pasture.

Enter the gates of the Lord with thanksgiving and the courts with praise;

give thanks and bless God’s holy name.

Good indeed is the Lord, whose steadfast love is everlasting,

whose faithfulness endures from age to age.

Call to Worship (Psalm 23 & 1 John 3:16-24)

Day by day, God leads us:

to the deep, deep pools of peace, to the rivers and waters of grace.

Day by day, Jesus calls us:

to pour out ourselves in service, to anoint the stranger with hope.

Day by day, the Holy Spirit shows us:

the community we could be, the family we are called to become.

Prelude – Take Up Your Spade by Sara Watkins

Call to Worship (Voices Together #884)

Leader: In the beginning, before time, before people, before the world began,

All:  God was.

Leader:  Here and now, among us, beside us, clearer than air, closer than breathing,

All:  God is.

Leader: In all that is to come, when we have turned to dust and human knowledge has been complete,

All:  God will be.

Leader:  Not despairing of earth, but delighting in it,
not condemning the world, but redeeming it through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit,

All:  God was, God is, God will be.
