FMC will host Abdul Alkalimat and Kate Williams- McWorter to speak about and answer questions related to the New Philadelphia, IL historic district. Founded in 1836, New Philadelphia, IL was the first community in America started by an African American. Abdul is a descendant of the founder Frank McWorter. Abdul and Kate are professors at the University of Illinois and are leaders of the New Philadelphia Association.
